Miscellaneous, a blurb
Why the name Big Syd? The truth is simple, from a young age we've been in charge.
A she / her / hers, working mom, oldest sister, type A, organization obsessed, straight shooting, breast cancer survivor, with a fondness for teen melodramatic TV shows. Got love triangle? Yes please.
Born and raised in Vermont , called Chicago home since 1996, and now resides in Northampton, MA.
Studied at DePaul University Theatre School as well as Columbia College with a concentration in Film and Video Production.
In addition to 20+ year freelance career, former staff positions include Line Producer at Big Deahl Productions as well as Head of Production at Tessa Films and Take Care productions.
That trial by fire educative experience that comes from starting at the bottom of the ladder and working your way all the way up combined with 20+ years of surviving a shapeshifting business has yielded a full scope kind of boss, organized creative thinker, passionate storyteller who won't mind getting her hands dirty if its for the good of the job. Polished and scrappy at the same time, able to adapt and pivot on a dime, with a deep understanding of the importance of a grace under pressure. Great with clients, on top of the budget, and always game to try.
Admittedly a bit of an over-thinker, but that's kind of the job. Allows you to do yours.
